Chandernahan Trek  a little known destination in Himachal. Trekking through refreshing forest paths, long walks through huge meadows, sight of humongous waterfall and experiencing lakes one after the other makes it a complete trek. It is believed that Lord Shiva once took a bath in these lakes and crescent moon on Shiva’s head fell into these, hence the name Chandernahan. Locals believe that there are 7 lakes in total, though only a few has been to the last one. Lying at border of Kinnaur and Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh, trek for Chandernahan lakes start from a little village named Janglik.

Route:- Shimla – Tangnu- Janglikh- Dayara- Chandernahan & back

Altitude: – 4200 mtrs./ 13,860ft.

Trek Length:- 20kms. (one side)

Difficulty Level:- Easy to Moderate

Best Season:- April to October

Day 1:(Shimlato Tangnu to Janglik Village 2750 Mtr.)

Pick up from Shimla, enroute lunch Arrival at Tangnu  village. Walk of 1 hours till Janglik village. On 1st day overnight stay at Janglik village in homestay.Janglikh village is last village of Shimla district. Enjoy the local cuisine bonfire, dinner and overnight stay Home stay.

Day-2 :-(Janglik To Dayara Thach 3200Mtr.) On 2nd day post breakfast we will start leisurely & trek towards Dayara Thach.  It’s a moderate trek which takes 4-5 hours to reach Dayara Thach. Dayara is a beautiful expanse of loft green meadow in the valley. The flock of sheep grazing around with humps of mountains rising high on both the sides make it a picturesque location. Hot lunch will be served. Explore nature & spend quality time with eyes & camera. Dinner and Overnight stay at beautiful meadow near campsite. The day ends with the bone fire after dinner.       Day-3:-(Dayara Thach to Lithim Thach 3200Mtr.) After breakfast start excursion to Lithim Thach, It is nice walk through pine & oak trees.  Total duration of the trek would be around 4 to 5 hours till Lithim Thach. Hot lunch shall be served at Lithim.Lithim thach is beautiful meadow and provide beautiful view of Buran Pass. After Lunch free time to relax. Dinner at camp, Overnight stay at camp.     Day-4:-(Lithim Thach To  ChanderNahan Glacier 4300Mtr. Back To Dayara Thach) After bre After breakfast start from Lithim Thach. Afternoon reach at Chandranahan  enjoy packpacked lunch. Chandranahan is a lake system feed by glacier and undergound spring  spriwater. It is a very pious place for the locals and as per legend tale local God of RohRohru – Shikru Devta is supposed to have taken birth here. One can see up to 4-5 lake glacier ponds, which are not too big or deep either.Spend some quality time there toth to enjoy panoramic view .Return back to Dayara Thachfor the evening. Dinner &Ove  overnightstay at camp.   Day-5🙁 Dyara Thatch To Janglikh To Rohru) The final part of trek, we will start our day leisurely after having breakfast . Start excursion back to Janglikh. It will take 2-3 hours to reach. The long Meadows with Herds will definitely stole your heart. Enjoy lunch at Janglikh. Rest for some while. At evening visit to local village in order to into their rich culture, beautiful architecture & daily activities.  

Day-6 :-(Departure)

Morning wake up. Sip hot tea in the cool morning breeze. Have breakfast. Post breakfast Dropping at Shimla with pleasent experience of the trek.
